We are interested in molecular structures and reactions at surfaces/interfaces of both single crystals and powders and the light-matter interaction on nanoscale structures. When molecules are confined at surfaces/interfaces, and electrons and phonons are confined in nanometer scales, they assemble and respond differently from the bulk. We investigate their structure and light-induced dynamics using advanced ultrafast laser spectroscopy, photoelectron spectroscopy technique, and imaging technique. We have achieved the time resolution of femtoseconds, the spatial resolution of nm and the spectral resolution of cm-1. We are also developing varieties of advanced ultrafast spectroscopy
